> a step-by-step guide to tagging flac files with japanese characters Tagging .flacs in Japanese shouldn't be a problem in any tagging program since flacs's metadata is always in UTF-8. I use foobar2000 for this. Getting the freedb integration to work is a bit trickier, but manual tagging should do for testing.
> and getting them displayed on your SB2. You have to put a Unicode font in slimserver's Graphics/ subdirectory, don't know if any will work, Arial Unicode (arialuni.tff) does. Then it's a question of luck and versions. Japanese tags have always worked for me on the web interface, but not always on the player itself. It likes to either ignore the tags or just crash on me. 4694 is a build that works quite well for me. HTH C.
