For MP3s though, that didn't work. So, I used a ";" as suggested and changed the Slimserver setting, changed the "\" separator character to ";" in MP3tag for my MP3 files only, and lo and behold it worked. The ";" setting in Slim also did not seem to affect the FLACs which were still separated with the "\" character (at least as shown in MP3tag).
This does seem as a bit of a hack, though, as using the backslash separator actually causes MP3tag to issue two or more genre tags on separate lines. Using a ";" character simply sets a single genre tag that has two or more sections delimited by semicolons. This is what Slim seems to be parsing. It does seem as if Slim can detect multiple genre tags with FLACs but not with MP3s. Thanks for the clarification; I guess I'll now use the semicolon as a tag separator for both FLACs and MP3s to maintain consistency. -- mbonsack ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mbonsack's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1398 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20235 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
