I used to be a big fan of MAREO, but recently iƦve just been getting
pissed off at it. Maybe it's not MAREO's fault, it's probably LAME to
be honest.

If you daon't get the Year and the two Genra tags right (the data
pulled from FreeDB isn't always that great) then LAME will report very
obscure error and MAREO doesn't move on. Complete pain when you go to
bed with 400track in the que and get ip in the morning to see 350.

I ripped the vast majority of my CDs over a year ago, and have just
done my compilation disks (i don't really listen to them, but wanted
them archived anyway). I just ripped them straight to FLAC and am in
the process of correcting all the tags then will probably use
Foobar2000 to batch transcode everything to MP3 and OGG. At least this
way all the metadata will be the same on all versions too.

For new albums all go back to using MAREO i think.
