I am using Windows Media Player to rip my CDs, which seems to work well at retrieving tags and art for about 90% of my CDs ... then cleaning up the remaining 10% with Tag & Rename. Occasionally, WMP puts a CD in the wrong (in my opinion) folder ... for example, creating one main folder for Louis Armstrong CDs and another main folder for a CD by "Louis Armstrong and His All Stars". In these cases, I am manually moving folders around (which, of course, WMP won't be happy with).
If I delete the WMP catalog and have it re-search my music folder for new music, will it pick up the new folder structure? More importantly, do I run the risk of WMP trying to be helpful and undoing any of my re-tagging / rearranging work? Thankfully, SlimServer does not seem to care about these changes - just rescan and (usually) everything gets corrected in the SlimServer database. But until I get everything ripped, I have to live with WMP. -- Jon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2848 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20842 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
