See http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?BeginnersGuideToTagging for some suggested taggers. I use mp3tag (which despite its name is good with FLAC). In mp3tag, point it at the direvtory with the files in; select a track; right click and select "Tags..." from the popup menu. It will show you all the tags in the file. Poke around and see if you have both ID3 and Vorbis tags, that might confuse things.
