The reason, is that it seems an easy way of entering two values for genre, eg rock and pop, or classical and chamber - that way I can see my few classical CDs under the classical genre, and yet still filter down further if need be.
I realise that there are other ways of entering multiple genre (eg by using a ; to separate), but thought this would be easier as EAC already appears to have 2x genre fields. As an alternative, and so as to avoid using the ;, I have set up a numbe of default settings in EAC, eg one called 'Rock', with the entry in the flac command line as '-T genre=%m -T genre=Rock'. Have also been looking at the various tag editors available and none seem to suppor multiple genre fields, though again use of the ; is always possible.
