OK, then I guess we have established that the Cactus Data Shield copy
protection system behaves like this...

The possible audible artifacts should occur approximately at the time
instants where the ripper reports timing problems. The errors in your
album are probably not that nasty, or you have a CD drive with better
error concealment, i.e. it interpolates the uncorrectable errors in
such a way that the errors are not audible.
