I think I have found the answer - Slimserver doesn't seem to be picking up any more GENRE tags after the comment[9] field in the Vorbis metadata block.
The track shown below had all three GENREs listed in the database, which, together with the situation described above, suggests that it stops looking at comment[9]. Can anyone confirm whether this behaviour has changed in later versions of Slimserver? type: 4 (VORBIS_COMMENT) is last: false length: 368 vendor string: reference libFLAC 1.1.2 20050205 comments: 14 comment[0]: Artist=A Thompson comment[1]: Title=Intro comment[2]: TRACKNUMBER=1 comment[3]: DISCNUMBER=1 comment[4]: ALBUM=Trade Love Parade comment[5]: COMMENT=Ripped by EAC/FLAC 1.1.2 comment[6]: DATE=2000 comment[7]: GENRE=Hard House comment[8]: GENRE=Club comment[9]: GENRE=Mix comment[10]: replaygain_album_gain=-5.52 dB comment[11]: replaygain_album_peak=1.000000 comment[12]: replaygain_track_gain=-2.11 dB comment[13]: replaygain_track_peak=0.984497 METADATA block #3 type: 1 (PADDING) is last: true length: 3927 -- dSw ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dSw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=362 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24125 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
