Another option is the combination of dbpoweramp (or foobar if you're
more technical) to convert to MP3 and then Mp3tag to add tags based on
file name. 

In Mp3tag you simply specify the format of the filename and it will
automatically tag any number of files in any directories.

Its a reasonably easy process, I've used this method several times
before. 

If you want more detailed tags (ie. stuff that isn't in your
filenames/directory structure), you'll probably have to use software
like Music Brainz or re-rip =(
