I rip with EAC to WAV, and after import to iTunes most of the tags get
lost, including the track numbers.

Since the EAC tags are never complete or desirable, at least for
classical music I listen, I wrote the attached iTunes script to
automatically transfer the CDDB track info tags the iTunes gets
for the loaded CD (not for ripping in iTunes but merely used to enable
the iTunes to grab the CDDB information) to selected tracks already
imported to the iTunes Library (any format).

So the workflow is: rip the CD (always whole albums) in EAC to
WAV, import WAV to iTunes, let iTunes get track info, select the
WAV tracks, and run the script. Simple.

Be sure to read the READ ME file first. The scrip is not zipped
but since it exceeds the 19.6kB limit for text files in this forum
I have to tag it as .zip. Please rename to remove the .zip extention.

Thanks,
Leping
