It lets you know whether or not your rips are bit-for-bit identical with rips of the same disk done by other users anywhere in the world.
The hardest part about Accurate Rip is finding a disc in your own collection that matches the pressing of one of the known discs to set the offset. But you only have to do that one time for the life of your CD drive.
