Hmm, that is slow. I thought I was bad - my rips start at 5 X at the start of the disc and finish at around 10 X.
It depends what you want to do. Speed is not a priority for EAC, accuracy is. However 1-1/2 hours per disc is a problem for sure. I tried EAC on my laptop and it was very slow as well. I think the slimline optical drives are just not up to the task. In fact I think my laptop's drive is by Matsushita as well. However, on good discs, rips are definitely faster than what you're seeing. It's with damaged discs that it's really, really slow, slower than my desktop for sure. Do you have a desktop you can try it on? Even an old one, it's the speed of the drive that counts. The speed of the processor only comes into play when you're encoding, and if you want you can do this on the laptop. I find that for undamaged discs, a simple ripper like dBpowerAMP works well. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28605 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
