I'm using iTunes 7.0.1.8 on Windows XP. I've checked again and AAC files I imported into my library yesterday definitely don't have iTunNorm tags. I used to use iTunes 6 which (based on your experience) might explain why a lot of my library had iTunNorm tags even though (as far as I remember) I didn't enable Sound Check.
