Forgive me if this is FAQ, but I've done some searches through the
forums and such and haven't really come up with a definitive answer.
I am trying to get some multi-disc live CDs to show up as 1 album under
the artist. I have switched this on in the server prefs ("Treat
multi-disc sets as a single album". I am running SlimServer 6.5.1 from
2006-11-03, under Linux, and on an existing MySQL server v4.1.21 instead
of the 'bundled' one, if it matters.
The files in question are OGG Vorbis files. I have used Mp3tag v2.37
to modify the tags; The artist and album names are set identically for
the 2 CDs in question (but physically on the HD the files are still in 2
separate directories for disc 1 and 2). I have added the DISCNUMBER tag
to Mp3tag, and tagged the disc 1 files with "1" and the disc 2 files
with "2". Did an erase/rescan in SlimServer.
Now I see my album listed twice, with the same name.. The tracks in
the first entry are just numbered normally, "1. Song 1". The tracks in
the second entry are numbered with the preceeding disc number, like
"2-1. Song 1".
So, it seems I am either doing something wrong or SlimServer is not
working. I found the doc that says the DISCNUMBER tag should be
supported for Vorbis files.
Any suggestions?
