I just did some experimenting and found about a 3% compression difference from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3, at the default compression level, and an almost 5% compression difference from 1.1.2 at default to 1.1.3 at level 8.
I'm thinking I may run a background batch process to reencode my flacs on my Kuro Box. -8 looks like it takes about as long as the file plays in real time, which means it would take roughly a month to trawl through everything. If I do it in-place with a temp file it shouldn't affect SlimServer operation--even if the file is replaced. The only catch is to preserve the file modification time or else everything will show up new. -- mrfantasy --Mike ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mrfantasy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1127 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30698 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
