I don't think that the slimserver is the reason for the diffences, but
rather the SB3. 
I assume that the server transfers the flac-files from the hard
disk to the network interface without any changes (native format). 
The conversion to wave is done by the SB3 (am I right?). 
I just wonder if someone else made the same experience with the Flac /
wav differences? 
I know that different influences (eg. jitter, cables, power 
supplies, etc - not Voodoo) could change the sound of the same 
file played on an SB3, therefore I could imagine that the same 
effects happen during converting the file in the SB3. Perhaps 
has the transporter a different behaviour - would be very 
interesting to get here an answer.
