sounds like they knew people would get lost having to type a ö to find Björk so they decided to turn Björk to Bjork in the index but not the display... but they didn't include logic for the funny Ø character and presumally many others.
The silly thing is that when you click search Björk it should apply the same logic to turn it to Bjork so you don't get the inconsistent behaviour.
