The problem you'd have with getting surround out of that file, I suspect, is that the SqueezeBox only decodes to 2 channels, as far as I know. If you decode it on the server you may have the same problem; or maybe you can decode all 6 channels, but then the SB won't know what to do with more than 2 of them (and may barf on being sent the other 4!).
The way the SB handles DTS/DD (from a DVD) at the moment is to pass them straight through to a receiver which can decode those formats. (We trick the SB into thinking the files are 16-bit PCM stereo, using IEC61937 to encapsulate the data, and it's passed right through.) If you have a receiver which can understand the WMA format, I'm sure it would be possible to use the same trick -- with a little research to discover how to apply that IEC61937 transformation. -- smst ------------------------------------------------------------------------ smst's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=752 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34750 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
