Compression level and naming scheme are up to you and won't have any
effect on the sound.
A lot of people these days are using level 8, which is the maximum
amount of compression. It won't sound any different, just a matter of
time spent to compress.
Naming conventions are personal and mostly have to do with how the
files will be organized on disk. I try to keep it simple and don't
throw year, artist or album names into the file name. If the files are
properly tagged, then SlimServer takes care of all that, without having
enormously long folder or file names. As long as things stay in the
folders where they belong then you'll have no trouble keeping it all
straight. I'm not sure how this works out in dbpoweramp settings, but
it should give you an idea:
Code:
--------------------
\flac
..\_Various Artists
..\..\A Twist of Marley
..\..\..\01 Exodus.flac
..\..\..\02 I Shot The Sheriff.flac
..\Aaron Neville
..\..\Nature Boy
..\..\..\01 Summertime.flac
..\..\..\02 Blame It On My Youth.flac
