I know there a a lot of threads on this, but none of them seem to cover what I'm trying to achieve.
Ideally, when browsing by album I would like to see compilations grouped (so that each album only appears once). However when browsing by artist I'd like to see all artists individually, including all those (only) on compilations. I currently have the 'group compilations together' option selected, which means that the artists from compilations don't appear at all.
