Tagging and library management may be two different things, depending
on how you look at it.  A good tagger such as Mp3tag, is almost
mandatory.  But I don't believe that a library manager is really
needed.  If you keep your folders organized, as most people do, into a
structure such as:

/artist/album/tracks

then you can just browse the directories to do a lot of what you need. 
SlimServer's facilities aren't bad for a lot of tasks - look up tracks,
artists, albums.
