I think that the files with "tmp" in them are created during the
transcoding process from .wav to .flac. Remember that when you rip the
CD, EAC will rip to WAV first and then convert them to FLAC.

What you've probably done is kill EAC off after the CD ejects BEFORE it
has finished the conversion process from .wav to .flac.

The status bar (at the bottom) will tell you how many conversion tasks
are remaining. EAC is clever enough that if you restart it, it will
remember where it got to and complete the outstanding conversions.
