Thanks for the input. Being new to this, I wasn't being careful about how I was using the tools and what the behavior of SlimServer is. I was getting caught up on how SlimServer deals with albums that consist of two CDs.
I think I now understand how things work with FLAC files, what tags are used for SlimServer and how it determines that a CD is actually two CDs. I've "standardized" on Mp2tag for fixing up FLAC tags (and removing ID3 tags) and dbPowerAmp for doing the ripping. I'm 400+ CDs into converting my CD collection and happily listening with my Transporter and Classé preamp and power amp. Thanks for setting me straight.
