I have had a Squeezebox for years now. I have over 7,000 tracks in my library, mostly MP3s with ID2/ID3 tags.
This week, I upgraded to the new SqueezeCenter (which, I must say, is really AWESOME... nice upgrade, great graphical interface!). I also purchased a new CD from Dolly Parton. (Backwoods Barbie, if you must know.) I ripped the CD to my library, as I have always done, in MP3, using my Linux machine. The Soundripper software tagged it properly, and I could verify that with my EasyTag program. The artist field was "Dolly Parton". (Which is correct.) So, here's the problem: For years, I have gotten comfortable with the fact that the sorting on my artists is done alphabetically, using their first names. So "Dolly Parton" would be sorted into the "D" section. 7,000 songs in my library are sorted this way. But Dolly is now showing up in the "P" section. This wouldn't be so bad, but all the rest of my music is still sorted the old way, and I can't seem to fix it. I don't see any options in the Settings panels that indicate any kind of Last Name Sort option, but it looks like that is what it's doing. So when I look at my "P" section, I see this: - Pam Tillis - Dolly Parton - The Pogues - Prince - etc. Has there been an update to how Squeezecenter pulls out last names? Or is there a tag that I'm missing? -- scohar70 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ scohar70's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11293 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46102 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
