It's not EAC or Freedb. You have the choice on how you want it to set up your files by using dynamic naming using masks. It's much more complicated on various artist type albums. I've finally started grouping all my albums under the album artist tag which is the same as artist in most cases. I leave artist to show who the artist singing is and if it's many artists and not one major one I'll set the album artist to Various Artists. It will show up in SB as Various Artists but won't populate the artist field. If it is a album with one major artist and a few guests I'll name the various artist field by the major artist and in most programs it will show under his or her collection, but not in SB, it will be under Various artists also. Not perfect but it works ok for me and I don't get all the artists plugging up the menu. If you decide to do something like this it's pretty easy to change using mp3tag, as long as your artist tags are in good shape. If you decide to try it, do it on a couple of albums and if you like it I can give you some tips to make it easy in mp3tag.
