I've just recently re-encoded all my FLACs into the 1.2.1 version of FLAC using the tool's in-built on-the-fly re-encoding feature. Since then I've been getting some pops, clicks and random stopping of files when streaming to my Transporter.
I have tested all the newly encoded files with 'flac -t' and they are all syntactically correct, but playback suggests otherwise. The audio glitches are not consistent. If I play a song over and over again I may or may not get issues, it seems random. Sometimes tracks just stop playing. The Transporter freezes and I have to press pause and then play to restart the track. Sometimes the track then plays fine, other times not. I had one song that stopped three times in a row at the same point. On the fourth and subsequent attempts it played fine. Odd. As usual 'flac -t' said the file was fine. Using my backup folder of 1.1.3 versions of the tracks I have so far not had any problems, so I can only conclude the transcode has borked the files in some way. I haven't extracted a version of both versions of a file to .wav yet to compare them but I will do soon. FLAC 1.2.1 files are not a problem for SqueezeCenter v7.0 are they? -- mattross ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mattross's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8434 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46633 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
