An unfortunate series of events leaves me without a CD drive in my PC, and I have absolutely no idea what make/model to look for - haven't bought one since my old NEC about 5 years ago! Any advice would be gratefully received...
So here's the criteria... 1. 99% of the time all it'll do is rip audio CDs, so that needs to be it's specialty 2. But would be nice to have a drive that's not too slow at burning DVDs 3. Being used in a WinXP machine 4. SATA 5. colour not important 6. LightScribe would be a nice added bonus 7. I rip everything to Apple Lossless in iTunes, badly scratched discs go into CDex, ripped to wav with Paranoia set to full 8. Must be able to rip those "Copy Controlled" CDs ...thanks in advance folks! -- moley6knipe 2 x SqueezeBox 3 | 1 x SqueezeCenter 7 | 1 x Win XP Pro SP2 | 1 x Happy listener :-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ moley6knipe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10014 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47471 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
