In addition to a large collection of MP3 files ripped from my CD's, I
also have a lot of music on disc in a variety of surround sound
formats- DTS CD's, music video DVD's, DVD-Audio discs, Dolby surround
discs, etc., that I would love to be able to add to my playlists and
mix with all of the 2-channel stuff.

Since my main SB2 is connected via optical to a receiver with dolby and
DTS decoding, it should just play the multi-channel material in surround
mode, and the MP3's in stereo, or a DSP mode, depending on what's in the
data stream.

However, I haven't figured out how to rip all of this surround material
into a format that will show up in SC (it would be nice if it would show
up in iTunes, too, but I won't hold my breath).

Can anyone suggest any (preferably free) software and/or the best
format for the surround files?

Thanks!
