Assuming you're using FLAC, do the following:
1) Set Artist on each track to the correct individual artist value
2) Put all the files for a given album in a single directory
3) Don't set Album Artist to anything

As an alternative to (3) you can set Album Artist if you then manually
set Compilation=1 for every track. I set up a couple of ID3 transforms
in dbP to make all this automatic and SC compatible, I'll post what
they are when I get home this evening.

Looks fine to me, quite similar to what I use:

[IF!COMP][album artist] - [][album][IFMULTI] [[disc] of
[disc_total]][]\[track]. [IFCOMP][artist] - [][title]

For the format you specify above, it would be something like this:

[IF!COMP][album artist]\[][IFCOMP]Various Artists\[][album][IFMULTI] -
[disc][]\[title]

I would strongly recommend putting track number in the filename, SC
doesn't care but it makes it easier for people and some other apps to
read. Likewise for artist in the case of VA albums, although that may
not be as important.
