I apologize if this has been covered here before. I searched the forum
but couldn't find an answer.

I used to have a Meridan 518, which took a 16bit input and output a 24
bit word with the extra bits sets to zero. This resulted in a drop in
the noise floor and a percieved increase in dynamic range. Now I use
EXAC
to rip my red Book CD music to lossless .wav files (compressed to .wma)
on my PC and feed my DAC via a wireless Squeezebox 3. I'm not looking
for a software 192 Khz upsampler as my Meridian 561 DAC is 48kz.

Does anyone know how, or know of a piece of software, to do the same as
the Meridian 518 did and expand the word length of the files on the PC?
All advice gratefully recieved.

Regards, Aidan
