Mediamonkey on my laptop and my music is on an external drive connected
to my desktop.  I've mapped the drive to my laptop, maybe you need to do
this?  As long as the files are in the same place as the playlist points
to it should work I would think. As far as moving the files to a
portable, or another computer I'm not sure but some programs update the
playlist to point the right way.  I just don't use playlists enough to
help but wanted to let you know that you can play the playlists as they
stand on mediamonkey.
