Forget about all those options. I have solved exactly this problem in another way and it has been working fine for me since version 5 and it is still working with 7. I simply add the tag "Album Artist" to all the songs in an album and assign the value "1. Various Artist" to it. This way SB3 will show under Browse->Artists->1. Various Artists before any of the other artists. Also albums categorized this way will onæy appear under the "1. Various Artists" and not under the respective artists (but you can still search for songs of a given artist and get all the songs - also those in teh "various artists"). I prefix it with "1." just because I want it at the top of the list, but it is not necessary. In fact I us ethe following special categories: 1. Various Artists 2. Various Artists - Christmas 3. Various Artists - Soundtrack Tis way I don't rely at all on the Squeezecenter algorithm for determing when an album is a "VA" album.
