Ogg is gapless without any special effort, so there are two possible things happening:
1) You're trying to play on multiple synchronized players. That breaks gapless for all formats, and the solution is don't do that until SC7.3. 2) You're using an encoding that's too resource-intensive on the decoder. If you're using native playback, that decoder isn't perfect and doesn't have a hell of a lot of headroom, and at Q10 you're definitely pushing it. So either use server-side decoding, or a lower Q level, and that should work. Just like MP3, not all Ogg encoders are created equal. I would STRONGLY encourage you to check out the aoTuV series of Ogg encoders. They are called beta but in this case they're actually more solid than the official versions, which I believe both MediaMonkey and Foobar use. FWIW with aoTuV encoders, Q5 is considered transparent for most samples (i.e. it can't be distinguished from FLAC in a double-blind test). I use Q6 without problems. -- CatBus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CatBus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7461 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53691 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
