Highlight all the files in question in mp3tag, right-click and hit extended tags. That shows you everything that the file contains.
Any tags that differ when they shouldn't (assuming you're looking at the tags from one album at a time) will show as < Keep >. Otherwise they'll show you e.g. Queen Greatest Hits Another thing to check is that you only have id3 v2.3 tags, as if you've got v1 tags as well that'll confuse SC.
