FWIW, I'm pretty sure that WMP and J. River have compatible ratings. I used WMP before switching to J. River and IIRC my ratings came over. J. River, at it's default settings, does not store ratings in the tag, but it can be easily changed, and I *think* it will retain them in the tags if that is how it found them originally.
