I saw something like this quite a while ago. I'd have MP3 files with year tags, but no data in the year. They'd show up with random garbage numbers like you're seeing. I filed a bug about this a long time ago, bug 6585 (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6585), but it was fixed. Check to see what the tags for those say. May be something similar.
