Thank you both very much. I see now that by inadvertently changing the associated file program, I haven't affected anything in SC - I still have my music, and I can still access the files. I was a bit concerned when all of the settings automatically changed when I selected the wrong option in one folder!!! I may try to reset the file program as chill outlines, but it is obviously not the issue that I initially feared it to be.
