I came across this free, open source program called MediaCoder that
converts media files of all sorts:

http://www.mediacoderhq.com/index.htm

and I was thinking of using it to convert my FLACs to MP3s as needed
for car player. There are no references to it in these forums, other
than two rather useless ones from 2006, but it seems to have come of age
just this year. It looks quite interesting - and i like that it is free
and that it is open source - but I was wondering if anyone has any
experience with it. In particular I am wondering about the resulting
mp3 quality and the ease of use (I am rather non-technical and have not
dared to try the flac2mp3 script that many here seem to use).

Thanks,

Anna
