Phil,

Check this link http://www.schudy.de/dts/dts2ac3stereo-e.htm for
converting 5.1 DTS to stereo AC3. There may be a way to then convert the
2 channel AC3 to stereo PCM.

Don't give up on DTS-CDs, it is simply a format and there are great,
good and so-so DTS-CDs out there.
