FYI, if you have your music in a directory heirarchy that has a consistent naming convention, many programs will allow you to convert the file/directory names into tags. foobar2000 and media monkey are 2 programs that can do this for you. You can tell it to do it all at once and can walk away until it is done!
They can do the opposite too - move your files in to directories based on the tags. Then, to add music, you use the "browse by folder" capability in the squeezebox to add it to the library. This is a way of adding new music to your library without having to clear/rescan. You just have to make sure that the files are properly tagged before doing this. Navigating your library via tags (which uses the database) is much faster than navigating the folders. -- maggior Rich --------- Setup: 2 SB3s, 3 Booms, 1 duet, 1 receiver.
