Hi I use Transporter for stereo playback. Recently, I upgraded my speakers and I realized that increasing word length from 44.1/16 to 44.1/24 makes sound much more smooth.
The program is http://www.mega-nerd.com/libsndfile/. I also tried r8brain, upsampling to 88.2/24, but the sound lost something.. Although I gained in more details, it also produced a lot more bass that I did not like. I would like to inject this application so ALL 44.1/16 files (wav or flac) will be modified with this utility to 44.1/24.
