Hi, I am looking for any possibility to play multichannel music via my SqueezeBox. Having several DVD-Audio discs I am able to rip 5.1 surround mixes to 6 mono WAV files (e.g. using DVD-Audio Explorer)
Those 6 WAV files can be encoded to lossy DTS 96/24 file (.dts) and this one wrapped into WAV and packed to FLAC. This FLAC can then be "played" via S/PDIF to my AV-Receiver. It looks like DTS 96/24 offers the best possible quality via one Squeezebox Receiver (for multichannel content). Do you guys know what's the best quality DTS 96/24 encoder ? Is there anything affordable ? Another way would be to encode these 6 mono WAV files into 3 stereo FLAC's 1. Front Left + Front Right channel 2. Subwoofer + Central 3. Surround Left + Surround Right Having 3 Squeezebox Receivers I could plug their audio output to my AV-Receiver "Ext In" analog inputs. If it were possible to play all 3 FLAC's simultaneously I would achieve lossless multichannel 5.1 playback. What do you think ? -- KarolG ------------------------------------------------------------------------ KarolG's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69939 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
