It seems that the Classic Squeezebox in unable to handle AAC iTunes Plus encoded files, the apparent new default standard for iTunes encoding. This has been my experience with unprotected files I have tried to stream, although all my older mp3 files behave properly. Is this other people's experience? I do not find anything on the Logitech Web site or elsewhere on the Web that addresses this problem. On the contrary, all the Logitech information states clearly that this model and other Squeezebox models are compatible with unprotected AAC files. A Logitech support technician told me that they are aware of the problem and are working on a "fast-track" solution. They did not give a more definite time-line.
