For me, taking out a years subscription to B&W's Society of Sound (http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Society_of_Sound - about £35 iirc) has been very cost effective. Because it's backed by Peter Gabriel there are quite a few Real World releases available there too.
It has several recordings available in 24bit FLAC, as well as the usual 16bit FLAC and ALAC. Full membership gives you access to all the previous albums, and each month releases a couple of new ones. I think there is a 'free' membership option which allows downloading of one or two tracks as a taster. I'm really enjoying the latest retrospective of the Unthanks at the moment.
