Assuming all your files are mp3's with id3 tags... TPE2 is the name of an id3 tag frame that holds an artist name. This is meant to represent BAND/ORCHESTRA, but also abused by other apps to instead use this for ALBUMARTIST for popular music.
Album Artists will always appear in the Browse Artist list. Band/Orchestra can appear in the artist list if you choose. The scanner can be configured to interpret TPE2 as either being Band/Orchestra or Album Artist. You could put the actual contributor in the Artist tag, and then use the composer tag for Bach, Beethoven, etc. Then you can include the composer in the artist list. If you don't want contributors appearing in the artist list, you could also put the conductor in an Album Artist tag. As you have classical music, you're probably better with making the scanner interpret TPE2 as Band/Orchestra. You can add a custom tag called "Album Artist", and thus can have both Band and Album Artist information. SBS Settings option labels are very confusingly written. Many people here know now what they mean, so if you have any specific queries over the settings page options, just ask here. Another area of confusion now is how to edit tags. A recent revision of Mp3Tag changed the default configuration. TPE2 used to be treated as Band, but now the newer version calls this frame Album Artist. You can change this confugration if you like. Hence there can be confusion over what you see in Mp3Tag and what you see in SBS. What version of Mp3Tag are you using? _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
