I have cases where I have an album by two artists, but one track might have a guest. I can't think of an exact case in my library off-hand, but as a silly example:
Album "No Quarter" by "Jimmy Page" and "Robert Plant" Track 1 by "Jimmy Page" and "Robert Plant" Track 2 by "Jimmy Page" and "Robert Plant" ... Track 10 by "Jimmy Page", "Robert Plant" and "Frank Sinatra" In this case, one could tag all tracks with two ALBUM ARTISTs. For all tracks that have the same ALBUM ARTIST(s), the album appears as a normal album by those artists, and not a compilation. SBS seems to handle this fine (I think it still does, anyway), as it maintains 1-many relationships for everything. Except, Browse Albums view tends to be flat - it expects a list of albums that only ever appear once in the list, no matter how they are sorted, so if there are multiple artists, multiple genres, or songs have differing years, it's a bit arbitrary where you might find the album in the list. The above example may appear under Robert Plant, even though Jimmy Page is the first Album Artist defined in the tags. i.e. if you have 1000 albums, you always get a list of 1000 items in Browse Albums view, no matter how you decide to sort it. _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
