I don't think this is possible. Are you sure you had it working in 7.6, or was the album tagged differently? The logic used to display lists in 7.7 hasn't changed much, if at all from 7.6.
The problem is that because you've assigned an album artist the server considers the album to be a non-compilation and Celine Dion is considered a 'track artist' on the album. When you set 'List compilation albums under each artist' the server lists track artists, but the problem is that it only lists track artists from _compilation_ albums, not non-compilations. It's a bug in the server that has existed for a very long time.
