Assuming you're streaming to a Squeezebox, LMS has to transcode to something that the SB can decode, and SBs don't decode WavPack. See http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Hardware_comparison for a summary of what different SB models can decode.
Also, pay no attention to the reported bitrates for files transcoded to FLAC.
