I started with very detailed genre, then it simply got overwhelming do decide which narrow category something fell in, so I went to fairly simple (blues, country, folk, rock, jazz, R&B, pop, classical, hip-hop, electronic, spoken word). I have lots of style info (from dbpa), but frankly don't bother to look at it.
But at the moment, I'm rethinking a bit and will maybe add a bit more detail.
