Hmmm, do you mean Vorbis Comments (tagging for FLAC files)? I use dbpoweramp for ripping to FLAC and mp3tag for tag editing and both are widely used and seem to handle "Album Artist" with no special intervention (for my use in LMS and foobar2000).
